Soccer Analyst Chris Sutton Faces Off Against Artist Olly Murs in Top Flight Predictions

The Gunners' ten-match victorious streak came to an end by the Black Cats before the global hiatus, however will the English top division leaders recover against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.

"Frank will attempt to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus AI, readers and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a United supporter.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is out on the weekend.

Football and Family Experiences

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a friend of mine," he explained. "My team was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the 60th minute, and they proceeded to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you will!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my career to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very content not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or son chooses to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have a young family, Madison and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.

"I won't push football on our kids but I've previously told my wife that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday football team," he added.

"I watched my nephews play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a football club for a while too.

"My dad coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for several years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am excited to it!"

Premier League Forecasts

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to wait a bit longer for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is now stronger with Pedro and Delap both back fit.

I still think this game will be fairly close, though. The Clarets are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.

This smells of a 1-1 draw to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

The singer's prediction: Chelsea will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Bournemouth have lost their past two matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham secured two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those games were at home, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's only on the road win this campaign came at Forest in August, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

So, what exactly do I predict here - can the Hammers extending their streak under their manager, or Bournemouth responding?

I will choose Bournemouth, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's prediction: 2-0

The guest's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's prediction: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the frontrunners for the drop before the season started, but they have surprised a few people under Keith Andrews and are in fine fettle with three in their past four games.

My son advised me to select Brentford forward Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks ago and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely find the net again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or support the away side at Brighton's ground.

The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will try to attack on the break but I think Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a threat.

Sutton's prediction: 2-1

The singer's view: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually turns out to be rather close. 1-1

AI's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.

Fulham have got lots of talent in their team but it still seems like they could be sucked into a drop zone fight.

As for the Black Cats, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

Their display in the 2-2 tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not seen any other team disrupt the Gunners like that this season, and they were more than a match for them.

The logical choice to do to support the visitors here, because they are clearly able of disrupting the hosts up too and, the last time they were in this part of London, they beat the Blues at the close of last month.

However I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing Sunderland with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of responsibility for their good results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.

Looking at Fulham's at Craven Cottage record, the sole team they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will secure three much-needed points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

The guest's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but Fulham have nonetheless been respectable at home this campaign. 2-0

AI's prediction: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a hard fixture to call. The Reds have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the sides who benefit from the {international break|
