Nancy highlights the fact his team can perform strongly for a half at a time. Indeed, if not for missed chances they could have been better than 1-0 up. “I saw enough other than the fact that we missed a second goal,” he said. “I acknowledge that we lost, but I have also to be fair.

“The performance we had at times was of top quality. That happened. I wouldn't speak so positively if it was different. That is the reason, in terms of results, I noted this is the same story. Which is why I believe we are really close to getting it right. But for the moment: small things.”

“I saw plenty of positives that we did, once more. The issue now comes down to sustaining it. My message would be different if it was not the case. That’s why I am a big believer we’re going to be able to get back on track.”

The Rangers Boss Response

Rangers manager played down talk of a serious challenge even after what felt like a landmark win. “One match at a time, so we can really build up a challenge,” he said. “The faith in the team is immense.”
